Back in 2009 when The Weeknd was associated with the production group “The Noise”, Abel worked with producer T-Minus in Toronto. Little did either of them know that they were going to blow up within the next few years. As we all know, The Weeknd has successfully released two revolutionary RnB albums and Drake has taken him under his wing. Similarly, T-Minus became an internationally recognized producer this year with production on DJ Khaled’s I’m On One, Lil’ Wayne’s She Will and more recently, Drake’s Make Me Proud.

Will we ever see the collaboration tracks recorded between the two of them? Only time will tell. For now, you can check out the videos above of The Weeknd singing in studio alongside T-Minus’ production.

The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, has been nominated for MTV’s O Music Award in the “Best Web-Born Artist” category. The O Music Awards celebrate the best in digital music and winners are determined based on votes from fans. It’s been a short seven months since the release of House of Balloons, yet The Weeknd has managed to redefine the use of social media for promoting his albums and has rightfully earned this nomination.

You can help The Weeknd win the award by voting for him on the O Music Awards website or by clicking here!

Another throwback video of Abel singing happy birthday on the TTC back in the day. On that ’09 buzz cut swag.
