The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, has been nominated for MTV’s O Music Award in the “Best Web-Born Artist” category. The O Music Awards celebrate the best in digital music and winners are determined based on votes from fans. It’s been a short seven months since the release of House of Balloons, yet The Weeknd has managed to redefine the use of social media for promoting his albums and has rightfully earned this nomination.

You can help The Weeknd win the award by voting for him on the O Music Awards website or by clicking here!

Another throwback video of Abel singing happy birthday on the TTC back in the day. On that ’09 buzz cut swag.

The Weeknd - Live in London - Tent Party

The Weeknd came dressed in all black attire last night to perform in London, ON and, as usual, killed the performance. He opened on a dark stage with High For This and finished with The Zone while sipping on that Henny XO. Compared to his previous performances at The Mod Club and The OVO Festival earlier this summer, Abel was a lot more comfortable on stage as he toyed with the fans while busting out his signature dance moves and “head bob”.

The XO crew was in full force at yesterday’s event too, with everyone from Hyghly to Jake to Alice to Will showing their support for The Weeknd and jamming alongside him. Other notable guests included the CP crew and TFHOUSE [DSTRY] who opened up the show. Omari and DropxLife were in London that evening as well, but kept it low key.

In spite of the great performance, the set was short and lasted just under an hour as The Weeknd performed select songs from both of his mixtapes. Below are some pictures from the event courtesy of The Come Up Show (shouts to DJ Chedo). We also have some video footage on our YouTube channel thanks to some dedicated fans.
